About the US Toyota Highlander minor change 2025 model 25th anniversary special edition

The Toyota Highlander was a hit model that debuted at the New York Auto Show in 2000 and has sold over one million units in the seven years since. Now, 25 years later, Toyota is celebrating the success of this pioneering car with a special edition model. The special edition model is based on the Highlander Hybrid Limited AWD and features silver accents and 20-inch wheels. It is available in two body colors: Heavy Metal and Wind Chill Pearl.

The interior also gets special finishes, with “25th Edition” embossed on the Portobello Brown leather seats.

In addition, special paddle logo lamps, door sill plates, and special floor mats are also included, creating a high-quality space. The rear tailgate is badged “HIGHLANDER 25th Edition”.

In terms of equipment, the car comes equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia System, three-zone automatic climate control, a premium audio system with 11 JBL speakers, and the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ driver assistance system as standard.

The 25th anniversary model will be limited to 2,500 units in the US, but pricing has yet to be announced.

Additionally, the new exterior color palette includes new “Cement” and “Heavy Metal” colors. XSE Turbo models now feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a sporty start-up screen, while all Hybrid models now feature “Beyond Zero” badging and all-wheel drive as standard. Toyota logos have also been unified across all trim levels, giving the car a consistent look.

There are two powertrains available, with the 3.5L V6 engine replaced by a 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 265hp and 310lb.-ft of torque, while the hybrid model combines a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with three electric motors and a nickel-metal hydride battery pack for a combined maximum output of 243hp and a fuel economy of up to 35mpg.
