Audi plans to fully redesign its popular premium compact SUV, the Q3, and release the third-generation model in 2025.

The current model, the second-generation Q3, was released in 2018 and has been popular for its sporty design and excellent driving performance. However, Audi is aiming for further evolution and plans to launch the third-generation new Q3 in 2025.

As of 2024, development of the new third-generation “Q3” is progressing, test runs have begun, and spy shots have also been taken.

Audi’s new “Q3” full model change exterior

The exterior of the new Q3 features aggressive split headlights, a slim grille, and wide lower bumper intakes. The muscular fenders also give it a sporty look. The taillights have been changed from the previous full-width LED design to a larger Y-shaped design, further emphasizing the sporty look.

It’s not yet clear whether Audi will offer the new Q3 in a Sportback coupe SUV bodystyle like the current model, but with no visible tailpipes and a charging port in the front fender, we can bet this prototype is a plug-in hybrid version.

The 2025 Audi Q3 will ride on the MQB Evo platform that it shares with the Volkswagen Tiguan and Cupra Terramar, which could make it larger than the current model, with an overall length approaching 4,500mm, although the wheelbase is expected to remain at 2,680mm.

Audi’s new “Q3” full model change interior

The interior of the new Audi Q3 is a space that pursues comfort and convenience by fusing the latest technology and design. A digital meter that can display various information is located in front of the driver, allowing the driver to instantly grasp the information necessary for driving. In addition, the enlarged, latest infotainment system has excellent operability and visibility, and various functions such as entertainment and navigation can be comfortably used.

In addition, the increased body size has improved rear seat comfort. Ample space is provided in both height and width, making it comfortable even on long drives. The interior of the new Q3 is a sophisticated space that is comfortable for not only the driver but all passengers.

Audi’s new “Q3” full model change specs

The new Q3 could be offered with four different powertrains: petrol, mild hybrid petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, but there has been no official announcement at this time.

However, it is expected that the plug-in hybrid system installed in the Tiguan will likely be adopted in the new Q3. The Tiguan plug-in hybrid combines a 1.5TSI Evo2 engine and an electric motor to produce a maximum of 268hp. It also has an 18.5kWh lithium-ion battery, achieving a range of 100km on electricity alone.

If a similar system is installed in the new Q3, it will be able to combine excellent fuel efficiency with powerful driving performance. Moreover, the expansion of Audi’s electrified models will symbolize the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility.

We will have to wait for a future announcement regarding the official specifications.

The new Q3 will compete against these powerful rivals. With Audi’s sophisticated design, high-quality interior, and excellent driving performance, it is expected to further increase its presence in the premium compact SUV market.
