About Yaris Cross

Toyota released the new Yaris crossover model “Yaris Cross” in Japan on August 31, 2020. It is based on the new Yaris . A new small B-segment model will be launched in the globally popular crossover SUV market .

About Yaris Cross specifications

It is based on the new Yaris and has a special exterior design. It is a three-number SUV with an overall length of 4,180 mm, an overall width of 1,765 mm, an overall height of 1,590 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,550 mm. Adopts exclusive 18-inch aluminum wheels. Compared to the Yaris, the overall length is +240mm, the overall width is +70mm, and the overall height is +90mm longer. The minimum ground clearance is +30mm.

It uses the newly developed ” GA-B platform ” called TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) . Adopts the newly miniaturized THS II of the new generation “Inline 3-cylinder 1.5L Direct Injection Dynamic Force Engine M15A” model. E-Four (4WD) model is also adopted. A newly developed double wishbone type rear suspension exclusively for 4WD. Gasoline vehicles also use  a similar engine with a “Direct Shift-CVT” with a starting gear. The 2nd generation Toyota Safety Sense , an advanced preventive safety technology, is installed as standard (except for the X “B package”).

The new Yaris Cross features an electric parking brake and hold, a 7.0-inch TFT color multi-information display, and a 3-split (4:2:4) rear seat (standard on G and Z grades). Adopts a hands-free power back door. An “accessory outlet” AC100V 1500W outlet can be added to the hybrid model.

Multi-Terrain Select  When driving off-road, a system is adopted that allows you to select from three driving support modes (MUD & SAND / NORMAL / ROCK & DIRT) depending on the road surface condition.

Although it is based on the new Yaris, it is equipped with an electric parking brake and hold, a hands-free power back door , and adaptive high beam assist , making it easier to use.

It is equipped with the 2nd generation Toyota Safety Sense , an advanced preventive safety technology . The second-generation Toyota Safety Sense installed in the new Alphard/Vellfire, which goes on sale from January 8, 2018, will be installed as standard on all vehicles. It uses a laser radar and camera to ensure excellent recognition performance and reliability, and is packaged with collision avoidance support PCS, LDA, and AHB. Compared to the previous Toyota Safety Sense P, “Pre-crash Safety” can now detect bicycles during the day and walking at night, and “Radar Cruise Control” maintains a constant distance from the vehicle in front when activated. Equipped with “Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)” that supports steering operations necessary for driving.

Intelligent Clearance Sonar (Parking Support Brake Stationary)  A system that helps reduce damage by mitigating collisions caused by pressing the accelerator incorrectly or pressing too hard. A function has been added to the Clearance Sonar, which uses a display and a buzzer to alert you when you are approaching a stationary object when driving, such as when parking in a garage. Sonar also detects windows such as convenience stores. When driving at low speeds (15 km/h or less), if a stationary object is detected in the direction of travel, the hybrid system output is suppressed and the brakes are automatically applied when the distance further decreases.

Leading vehicle departure notification function  If you stop following a vehicle in front while waiting at a traffic light or in traffic jams, and remain there without noticing that the vehicle in front has started, you will be notified with a buzzer and a display.

Emergency brake signal (hazard lamp flashing type)  When you apply sudden brakes, the hazard lamp flashes automatically.

Secondary Collision Brake  When the SRS airbag sensor detects a collision and activates, it automatically controls the brakes and brake lights to slow the vehicle and help reduce damage caused by a secondary collision.

Digital interior mirror  Images from a camera attached to the rear of the vehicle are displayed on the rearview mirror.

Advanced Parking Assist System “Advanced Park” not only controls the steering wheel, but also the accelerator and brakes, supporting operations necessary for parking. Hybrid model option available (77,000 yen to 93,500 yen).

Easy Return Seat  You can set your favorite driving position and easily return to the previous position using manual operation.

Toyota new Yaris Cross partially improved 2024 model price

Prices have been changed for improved models with minor changes; the gasoline model originally costs 1,896,000 to 2,367,000 yen, but the new model costs 1,907,000 to 2,571,000 yen , which is a price difference of 11,000 to 204,000 yen. There is a price difference between the original hybrid car price of 2,284,000 yen to 2,750,000 yen, the new model price of 1,907,000 yen to 2,571,000 yen , and 11,000 yen to 204,000 yen.
